Add a global pandemic on top, and one may just burst under the strain.
Human remains were found Sunday at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston in Texas. Partial skeletal remains were found near Salado Creek, which is in the northeast section of the installation, the military base said in a news release Monday. People walking near the creek discovered them. The base’s security forces closed off the area. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations and San Antonio-area law enforcement began investigating Monday morning. The base said there is no danger to the base or the community, and there are no active missing persons cases at the installation. Late last month, two service members were found dead at Joint Base San Antonio. Both deaths are under investigation, but investigators don’t suspect foul play in either.

HOLYOKE A 78-year-old U.S. Air Force veteran will be the first resident to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home, the site of one of the nation’s deadliest coronavirus outbreaks in a long-term care facility.
U.S. Air Force Airman 2nd Class Robert Aucoin, who was a control tower operator in the Vietnam era at Pope Air Force Base in North Carolina, got the first of his two shots Tuesday morning as vaccinations began at the state’s nursing homes for veterans in Holyoke and Chelsea.
The 354th Fighter Wing and 168th Wing Air National Guard completed a combat readiness exercise on Friday
The drill tested the Air Forces ability to rapidly deploy combat air power at Eielson Air Base, in Alaska, close to the Arctic Circle
The formation saw eighteen F-35A Lightning IIs plus twelve F-16 Fighting Falcons assigned to the 354th Fighter Wing line the runway. They were accompanied by two KC-135 Stratotankers from the 168th Wing
The formation known as the Elephant Walk tested the rapid response of readiness of every single aircraft present at the base
The Russian military is also known to have recent deployed MiG-31 Foxhound long-range interceptor planes to their base in Anadyr, in the Chukotka region, directly opposite Alaska
