Lisa Enroth usually spends her days working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden. But last week, she got to spend seven days alone on a remote island watching movies in a lighthouse.

GOTEBORG, Sweden Cinema in lockdown: Scandinavia’s largest film festival is exploring the social isolation resulting from COVID-19 by setting up a temporary cinema-for-one on a desolated island in the North Sea with the only companionship the events’ entire movie selection and enough food to last the week.
Lisa Enroth was selected among 12,000 volunteers to spend a week on the island of Hamneskar at Pater Noster, a former lighthouse turned boutique hotel. An emergency ward nurse from Sweden with a passion for film, Lisa said the isolation would give her “time to reflect and be alone” after a busy year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

A fundraising initiative named Cabs For Jabs is offering free taxi rides to elderly citizens to get to coronavirus vaccination centers in the British city of Winchester. The scheme is raising funds from citizens through crowdfunding platform GoFundMe. The leader of the service, Tim Perry, said Cabs For Jabs” is not only helping community members, but is also helping the taxi drivers who have been looking for much needed work.

Just like the opening of any star-studded film festival, photographers scrambled for position, training their lenses on the spot where audience members would alight. But when the first â and only â guest of honour arrived, she was clad not in a tuxedo or sparkly gown, but in jeans and an orange down jacket (designer unknown).
There was no red carpet, only bare frozen ground. And instead of sauntering into a plush cinema buzzing with celebrities, she climbed into a speedboat and zipped off across the frigid water to a tiny island where she would settle in for the first premiere.
