The lagoon will be part of a development with 2,100 new apartment units, but everybody s invited to come swim, kayak, or do some water yoga.

The Dallas City Council on Wednesday gave the OK for developers to get going on a 31-acre mixed-use project in West Dallas, about a mile west of Trinity Groves off Singleton Boulevard. The vote was basically unanimous (one council member was absent, and another recused herself because of a conflict of interest) and occasioned some good-natured back-slapping and congratulations.

An Australia-based company is scouting locations in North Texas and other major U.S. markets where it hopes to build a series of new water parks.
Surf Lakes builds outdoor wave pools that range in size from about 5 acres to 9 acres.
The company has constructed a prototype at home in Australia and is pitching the idea to landowners in the U.S. and worldwide.

While the rest of the country focuses on Super Bowl LV, where veteran Tom Bradyâs Tampa Bay Buccaneers will duel rising superstar Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Tampa, local leaders are looking far downfield â to when the big game returns to Glendale.
Super Bowl LVII is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2023, at State Farm Stadium. This will be the third time the city has hosted the biggest party in sports, with previous Glendale Super Bowls in 2008 and 2015.
In 2023, âI think any repeat visitors will be blown away,â said veteran Councilwoman Joyce Clark.Â
âItâs going to look totally different,â City Manager Kevin Phelps said.
