IGP asks officers to not spare any effort in ensuring security as per the ECP instructions.
IGP says command officers themselves should go out in the field to ensure security arrangements.
LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Inam Ghani chaired a meeting at his office on Wednesday about the security plan of by-elections of the national and provincial assemblies in Sialkot and Khushab.
The meeting was attended by Additional IG Logistics Ali Amir Malik, DIG Establishment II-Maqsood Al-Hassan, DIG Operations Sohail Sukhera, DIG R&D Shahid Javed, RPO Sargodha, Gujranwala and concerned DPOs among other officers.

LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Inam Ghani on Monday took immediate action against officials of various ranks who have a criminal record.
Chairing an important meeting, the IGP directed to remove from their post within 24 hours of this order all station house officers (SHOs) with a criminal record. He also directed the senior field staff to remove in the next phase all those SHOs who had been awarded three or more major departmental punishments during service, an official privy to the development told
Dawn.
The IGP also decided that all police officials from the rank of constable to BS-21 will be liable to be suspended from service if a criminal case was registered against them.
IG Punjab has issued a standing order to give additional powers to Additional IG South Punjab
Lahore, December 14, 2020 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Punjab Police Inam Ghani has said that under the vision of Punjab government, Additional IG South Punjab is being empowered and strengthened to provide possible relief to the citizens of South Punjab and solve problems at their doorsteps through effective policing so that police setup may be strengthened by handling administrative, financial and operational matters in a better way for provision of real relief to the people under smart and community policing.
He further said that a new standing order has been issued regarding the powers and duties of Additional IG South Punjab under which he has been given full powers of transfer posting of executive, ministerial and other staff including SP, DSP and Inspector up to grade 18. At the same time, in matters relating to service and discipline, the executive and ministerial staff up to gra
