Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par programme launched National April 20, 2021 MULTAN: On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Sadar Usman Buzdar, the ‘Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par’ programme launched in all districts of the province on Monday. The four-week programme was aimed at improving public service delivery. A campaign had been launched against graffiti and to eradicate stray dogs. The monitoring of prices, crackdown on illegal constructions and hoarders would also be a part of the campaign. All the departments would collect baseline data and geo-tag it and share it with the PITB. The Punjab Information Technology Board had developed an App in this regard. Field activities would be monitored through the App. In addition, through the App, citizens would also be able to give feedback on the activities of the departments. Stores not being allowed to sell sugar at market rate - Newspaper

LAHORE: Urging the government to allow maximum dealers to lift sugar from the mills, the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (Punjab zone) laments that the provision stores are not being allowed to sell the sweetener at the market rates. In a statement issued here on Friday, a spokesperson for the PSMA also challenges the cane commissioner’s assertions about sugar price saying the officer had not been consulted for the price issue. He says that under a court order the mills are providing 150,000 tonnes of sugar at a rate of Rs80 per kg for the lower-income group people. But the retail shops other than those that are supposed to sell the subsidised sugar are not being allowed to sell the commodity at the normal market rate, he says.

Best wheat yield expected in Punjab: Aleem

National April 16, 2021 LAHORE: Distribution of bardana and procurement of wheat has been started at wheat procurement centres across Punjab and so far more than 400,000 bags of bardana have been distributed while staff of Food Department and local administration is alert. Punjab Senior Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan was informed in the department briefing that the Food Department had made all the arrangements in this regard. Moreover, the Punjab government has also taken farmer-friendly measures to provide bardana to the farmers through online registration and this facility has been provided to all the farmers of Punjab. It was informed that farmers had been exempted from all restrictions, including land owners documents like fard for obtaining bardana and they can get it as per their requirement without any hindrance.

Punjab Irrigation Dept to launch e-Tawan initiative

LAHORE: Punjab Irrigation Department will launch e-Tawan initiative after successfully introducing e-Abiana. Secretary Irrigation Punjab Capt (retd) Saif Anjum had a meeting with Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Azfar Manzoor to discuss and review e-Abiana progress. The developments on the upcoming e-Tawan initiative as part of e-Abiana were also discussed. Automation and upgradation of Irrigation Department’s library in line with PITB’s e-Library initiative was also deliberated. Both departments will be signing an agreement in this regard to make all the relevant literature readily available to departments’ employees. PITB DG-IT Operations Faisal Yousaf, DG e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Development & Procurement Ata-ur-Rehman and Director IT M Kashif Farooq were also present at the meeting.
