NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police will issue look out circulars against farmer leaders who have been named in FIRs registered in connection with the violence that broke out during farmers tractor parade in the city on Republic Day, officials said on Thursday. The farmer leaders who have been named in the FIRs will also be asked to surrender their passports, they said.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police will issue look out circulars against farmer leaders who have been named in FIRs registered in connection with the violence that broke out during farmers’ tractor parade in the city on Republic Day, officials said on Thursday.
The farmer leaders who have been named in the FIRs will also be asked to surrender their passports, they said.

The crowd at the protest sites in Delhi’s Singhu and Tikri borders was visibly thin on Thursday, two days after the tractor parade turned violent, even though farmer unions said it was because the protesters, who had come to the national capital to take part in the 26 January march, have returned home.

Additional police personnel were deployed at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders the three prime sites of Farmers protest in Delhi as a preventive measure taking into consideration, the violence that erupted on Republic Day and left 394 policemen injured and one protestor dead.
The Singhu border, one of the major protest sites that has been home to thousands of farmers for over two months, was noticeably less populated on Thursday than what it used to be before the Republic day, or even before that.
Republic Day 2021 parade
In a unique show of stir against the three controversial farm laws enacted by the Central government, agitating farmers during their historic tractors parade on Tuesday at the Singhu border displayed tableaus from across different states depicting glimpses of village life, history of the farmers movement in India, the role of women farmers and various farming practices still followed in the country.
It was the first time when the usual Republic Day parade at Rajpath was joined by the grand Kisan Gantantra Parade from three locations outside the national capital.

People from many states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan reached the borders in huge numbers to show solidarity with the protesting farmers.
