EUGENE, Ore. – A driver being reckless drew a large police presence in Eugene on Friday afternoon, police said.
Police said a vehicle being driven by Edward Leo Gent, 34, sped off when it was spotted in north Eugene. Gent reached high speeds in several areas before crashing and rolling over in the 1400 block of Green Acres Road. The crash happened at 12:47 p.m.
Gent was removed from the vehicle, taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Gent had been on house arrest but had removed his ankle bracelet and police have been looking for him for the past week, they said.
