Past and present of Islamic education in Bangladesh (concluding part) Dr Md kamruzzaman 26 February, 2021 12:00 AM From the discussion of the previous episode, it has been understood that the history of Islamic education in Bangladesh is very ancient. There is a glorious chapter of this education in this country. It is a lesson that is learnt for development of soul. Considering the national consciousness of Muslims and the necessity of independent identity, Islamic education was able to retain its glory throughout Bengal for thousands of years. This type of education took a special place in schools, colleges, madrassas and universities. Despite being fiercely anti-Islamic, the British rulers could not destroy the Islamic education. At that time also, Islamic  education was compulsory in schools and colleges.
