Separate rallies led by different constituent members of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – a 10-party opposition alliance seeking to oust the government – reached Islamabad on Tuesday where a protest was held outside the headquarters of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against what the PDM has called an unacceptable delay in the PTI foreign funding case.
PDM protest in line with Constitution: Maulana Fazlur Rehman
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Head of the
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that their protest against the delaying tactics of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to render its judgment in the Foreign Funding Case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in line with the Constitution.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Tuesday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the Foreign Funding Case has been pending with the ECP for the last six years; however, it hasn’t reached to its logical conclusion yet.
The PDM Chief said that they are well cognizant of the government’s power and if it didn’t allow them to move forward as per their plan, they would have removed the containers with force.
