The return of Esox bar 16 months after it closed for the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t a reopening, according to manager David Hunter.
“This is just ‘opening,’” according to Hunter. “It’s like starting a new bar, starting over.”
The longtime Main Street establishment that Hunter refers to as a “working-man bar” came back to life July 16 16 months to the day after it shut down at the start of the pandemic. Hunter bought a new lighted sign with capital letters that reads “OPEN” to emphasize that the bar that was rumored to be closed for good is indeed up and running.
