April 5, 2021 FSU to Host Three Major XC Meets in 2021
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams will host three major meets this fall, including the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships in November at the Apalachee Regional Park.
“We’re excited to announce our fall home cross country schedule,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “Our FSU Open will be an early season preview meet, while the pre-national meet will be a late-season, high-caliber meet. Teams from all over the country will come in to preview our world-class course before nationals.”
The FSU Open will be held on Sept. 17 prior to the FSU XC Invite/Pre-Nationals on Oct. 15.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA The Cherokee County School Board approved on Feb. 11 several appointments for Cherokee County school leadership roles for next school year.
As part of the monthly personnel report, the school board accepted the retirements of many longtime educators throughout Cherokee County including Bascomb Elementary School Principal Kathleen Chandler.
Over the course of her 36-year career as an educator, Chandler has led Bascomb Elementary for the past six years following five years as principal of Johnston Elementary School and assistant principal service at Boston and Knox elementary schools, as well as classroom teacher and administrator roles in other metro Atlanta school systems. A Northland mother says her two sons are desperate for the return of their missing family dog, Swazzy.

A Northland family is pleading for the return of their pet dog - a member of the family for 11 years. Mike and Natalie Coyne said Swazzy was allegedly picked up by a woman on SH1 in Hukerenui after he escaped their property on February 7. The couple believe the woman approached their neighbour regarding Swazzy and she was directed to their place but they were not home at the time. The couple have contacted the pound, locals vets and councils, as well as the SPCA, and have put up posters plus social media posts asking for help. They asked he be dropped to the pound, SPCA, vet, or their home address in Hukerenui if known.
