Taking a leaf out of WhatsApp’s page, fast-growing messaging platform Signal has announced that it is adding a payments feature into the app that will let users send money to another in cryptocurrency. The company is calling this feature ‘Signal Payments’ and it will be first made available in the UK. The new payments system will offer support for a privacy-focused payments network called MobileCoin which has its own currency called MOB. OnePlus Pay may launch in India soon, to take on Google Pay, PhonePe and other digital payment apps
OnePlus is planning to introduce its China-exclusive digital payment service to India soon. The service was seen in an official listing recently and might be introduced in the country in the following months.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular cross-platform messaging applications. The Facebook-owned giant, on Thursday, announced that it has completed 12 years of its existence. WhatsApp was released back in 2009 and was later sold to Facebook for a USD 19 billion in 2014. Since then, the app has just been welcoming more and more users to its platform.Â
While making the 12-year anniversary announcement, Facebook also revealed that WhatsApp users have collectively made over one billion calls each day on the platform. This shows that the chatting app is being used for more purposes than before.Â

WhatsApp introduced payments feature few months back.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, proposed the WhatsApp payment feature in early 2018 to National Payments Corporation of India(NPCI). WhatsApp payments feature rolled out in ten Indian regional languages with consent and approval of NPCI in 2020. This feature is available in the latest version of WhatsApp app on Android and iOS.
