Traffic along A1A was a snarled mess from Ormond Beach to Daytona Beach Shores on Saturday due in large part to truck enthusiasts in town for the Daytona Truck Meet.
At one point, Daytona Beach Police restricted eastbound traffic on the Main Street Bridge to residents and workers with “Pink P” beachside access passes.
A Facebook post by the Daytona Beach Police Department, however, said that although traffic was heavy, the other beachside bridges remained open.
The truck meet was expected to bring in 5,000 oversized vehicles and 40,000 spectators. The event lasts through today.
