A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has stayed legal proceedings against
Sam Adeyemi, senior pastor of Daystar Christian Center,
Burna Boy, Davido, Falz, activist
Deji Adeyanju and others over the
#EndSARS protest.
The High Court ordered the magistrate’s court to immediately suspend proceedings against 50 people who supported the #EndSARS protest, following a criminal complaint filed by lawyer
Kenechukwu Okeke.
Okeke alleged in his lawsuit that properties were destroyed during the riots caused by the protest, and that those responsible for promoting the #EndSARS protests should be held accountable and brought to justice.
Justice Bello Kawu, who delivered a judgement on the application filed by Deji Adeyanju, who is also a defendant, for a judicial review of the substantive matter before the magistrate, said:

A human rights activist and co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, has said that judges in the courts of law across the country should stop giving attention to baseless accusations.
Yesufu said there are serious matters that require the time and resources of the judiciary than petty matters filed against the fundamental human rights of the citizens.

A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered a Magistrate, Omolola Akindele, to immediately halt proceedings and stay action in a criminal complaint filed by one Kenechukwu Okeke, against 50 persons who supported the #EndSARS protests.
Justice Bello Kawu also restrained the Nigeria Police Force from arresting or taking any action against the #EndSARS activists.
The magistrate had ordered the Commissioner of Police in the FCT to launch an investigation into the 50 notable persons who promoted the #EndSARS movement.
Some of the notable persons include the Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi; Musician Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz; and activist Deji Adeyanju.

A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered a halt in proceedings and stay action in a criminal complaint against persons who supported the #EndSARS protests.
Justice Bello Kawu who gave the order also restrained the Nigeria Police from arresting or taking any action against the #EndSARS activists.
The complaint filed by one Kenechukwu Okeke led to a Magistrate, Omolola Akindele ordering the Commissioner of Police in the FCT to launch an investigation into those mentioned.
Okeke had alleged that the protest which was supported by those joined in the suit led to him losing properties and creating fear among Federal Capital Territory, Abuja residents.

Okeke, however, said the defendants used Twitter, a microblogging social media platform, to instigate “some riotous and tumultuous persons” who caused mayhem in the country.

A High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered a magistrates’ court in the capital city to stop proceedings and stay action in a criminal suit filed by a lawyer against 50 persons, including human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju and David Adeleke, better known as Davido, for “promoting” the #EndSARS protests.
The court also restrained the Nigeria Police Force from arresting or taking any action against the #EndSARS activists.
