There were four new cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand in the last two days and two of the cases are linked to the new strain of COVID-19 recently identified in the UK.
Radio NZ reports the NZ Ministry of Health says the two individuals tested with new variant of COVID-19 arrived from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.
This brings the total number of UK variant COVID-19 cases to 8 in New Zealand.
The total number of active COVID-19 cases in New Zealand is 62.
