The song begins with a scratching, distorted effect and launches into a creepy, minimalist beat, with Eilish singing “Did you think I’d show up in a limousine?” Throughout the video, images of silhouettes and approaching cars flash by as the singer makes her way down a dimly lit street. When the chorus picks up, the cars begin zipping around her, filling the scene with headlights and tire smoke. In this video, there are, in fact, 25 stunt drivers. Not only did Eilish direct the video herself, but she also recorded the entire performance in a single take.
