N. C. Cooperative Extension concludes Horse Health series

N. C. Cooperative Extension concludes Horse Health series By Katie Carter NC Cooperative Extension The final presentation of the Horse Health Series was held on Jan. 27 with speaker Amanda Grev, forage specialist from the University of Maryland. Lameness is a major concern for horse owners. Once a horse becomes lame, what are the next steps that need to be taken on the road to recovery? To help horse owners better understand how to properly care for their horses, a few local NC Cooperative Extension agents have organized a horse health series. The third presentation, which discussed lameness in horses, was done on Jan. 20 by Carrie Jacobs, DVM, DAVS-LA, assistant clinical professor of Equine Orthopedic Surgery. The following information is adapted from Dr. Jacobs’s presentation.

Cooperative Extension at the Arboretum honors Black History Month

NewsSportsEntertainmentPort City LifeOpinionUSA TODAYObituariesE-EditionLegals The N.C. Cooperative Extension at the Arboretum honors Black History Month The month of February is designated as Black History Month – we honor this relationship between the two universities which exemplify efforts of working together through diversity and equity. Danyce Dicks N.C. Cooperative Extension Center Support Specialist When I started to think about how I would write this synopsis, I considered many different ways.  I decided to deal with the facts. It is amazing to think of the times in the 1860’s as it relates to the times in the 2020’s.  Different but still the same – a different date and time but still some of the same issues and concerns.
