Fans return to Nassau Coliseum
Frontline workers will be in the stands at Nassau Coliseum Thursday night as the Islanders take on the Devils.
NEW YORK - Thursday night at Nassau Coliseum, the cheering fans will be the true stars in the building.
For the first time in more than a year, the arena will host fans when the Islanders host the Devils. These aren t just any fans, though. They are frontline healthcare workers and their guests. The Islanders decided to thank them for their work through the pandemic by welcoming them into the building.

The Devils looked dead in the water. The Capitals were cruising through 40 minutes, and a fourth-straight win over the Devils seemed inevitable.
Then the Devils remembered how to score. Facing a 4-1 deficit entering the final period, the Devils scored three straight goals to tie the game.

Nassau Coliseum Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, the New York Islanders organization, and Nassau Coliseum management today announced the building’s reopening to Islanders season ticket members starting on March 18th, as permitted by state guidelines. Attendance will be limited to 10% of capacity, and all required safety protocols will be followed. On March 11th, 1,000 Northwell Health frontline staff will be guests of the Islanders, to thank them for their heroic efforts this past year.
