March 9, 2021 Here are the statements from Livermore Falls Police and Maine State Police concerning the hostage situation on Knapp Street that began early Monday morning, March 8. The suspect was killed by police and the hostages are all safe. Explosive devices are still at the scene. From Lt. Joseph Sage of the Livermore Falls Police Department: On 03/08/21, The Livermore Falls Police Department were dispatched to Knapp Street for an armed intruder. Officers arrived on scene and were immediately met with extreme and dangerous conditions which developed into a situation involving multiple hostages. From there assistance was requested from the Maine State Police Tactical Response Team. Throughout the hours immediately following, multiple State, County Federal, municipal, and agencies from New Hampshire and Massachusetts, converged on scene to offer assistance and resources.
