Auburn High School Falls 45-37 to Oak Mountain in State Semi-finals
Oak Mountain High School’s boys’ basketball team took a big step last season by the AHSAA State Basketball Championships. Tuesday, the Eagles took a giant step with a 45-37 victory over Auburn High School in the Class 7A semifinals to advance to Wednesday’s championship game at 4:30 p.m., at UAB’s Bartow Arena.
Leading the way was the Eagles’ own giant – 6-foot-11 junior center

Phi Delt and AEPi ordered to cease operations, others continue to party
After reports of Greek Life hosting parties across Miami since the start of the spring semester, fraternities Phi Delta Theta and Alpha Epsilon Pi at the University of Miami have been ordered to cease operations. First reported by sources in Greek Life and later confirmed by the Dean of Students Office, both Phi Delt and AEPi are being investigated for misbehavior.
Phi Delt President John Paragioudkis declined to comment, and AEPi President Michael Mesbah did not reply to a request for comment.
Members of Greek Life have continued to violate the university’s social distancing policies at various off-campus locations. Although Phi Delt and AEPi are currently being told to cease operations, this has not prevented other organizations from partying across the city.
The English title is
Ethos, but the words you see in the opening credits are, of course, in Turkish:
Bir Başkadır. Episode after episode, I would rack my brain for a suitable translation one that fit the idea of
ethos, but also matched the delicate world of the show. “It’s Something Else,” I ventured to my partner. Or, “There’s One More Thing.” Or, maybe, simply, “The Other,” as in, an-other-ness? Something about this eight-episode miniseries its wistful soundtrack, its themes of miscommunication, deflection, silence, and withholding encouraged me to keep generating my own language for it. I still haven’t looked up the dictionary translation for the Turkish phrase.
