The thefts happened in the 7200 block of Delfield Street and the 6100 block of Connecticut Avenue. • Property was taken from a vehicle in the area of Beach Drive and Knowles Avenue between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m. on April 28. Force was reported. • Money, property and parts were taken from multiple vehicles between April 26 and 30. Affected streets included Brewer House Road, Cushing Drive, Orleans Way, Waycroft Way, Bangor Drive and Luxemburg Street. Force was reported in three cases.

Montgomery Parks Highlights Best Trails for National Bike Month May is National Bike Month. In celebration, Montgomery Parks announced their top picks for the best locations for bike riding across the county. Every Friday at 9 a.m. to Sunday at 6 p.m., a section of Beach Drive, from Connecticut Avenue to Knowles Avenue, and sections of Sligo Creek Parkway, from University Boulevard West to Forest Glen Road and Piney Branch Road to Old Carroll Avenue, are closed to motor vehicles and open for bicyclists. From Arlington Road to River Road, Little Falls Parkway is also open for bicyclists starting on Saturdays at 7 a.m. until Sundays at 6 p.m.

New Richmond to allow two-way traffic on West First Street plus flower baskets return and property evaluations progressing

Here is what you need to know: 1. Two-way traffic on First Council approved the conversion of West First Street to a two-way street for its entirety. The last time West First saw two-way traffic was more than 20 years ago. Council members based their decision on the responses of residents and businesses being impacted by the change to a survey posted by city staff on social media. Of the more than 100 responses received, 68% were in favor of the conversion while 32% were not. The survey also presented three options for how the street might be laid out to accommodate two-way traffic including the cost to implement each. All three options garnered various degrees of support while 30% of respondents favored ideas not presented in the survey.

Saugus Police log March 26 Wicked Local At 1:08 a.m. a Fairmount Avenue resident reported she believed there was an intruder downstairs. Officers performed a search and everything appeared to be in order. At 3:25 a.m. an officer reported hearing five to six loud pops in the area of the 7-Eleven on Hamilton Street. An area check was negative. At 6:59 a.m. a caller reported a garbage truck hit a telephone pole in the area of Polo Gas and the power went out. National Grid was notified. At 11:36 a.m. a caller reported damage to his vehicle at Holiday Inn Express.
