2001 - Remembering first back-door season 20 years on

RTÉ Sport Reporter It s not peak-time for GAA content, what with Congress in the rear-view mirror and no on-field action for a while yet.  This time around, we re going back 20 years, to the inaugural back-door championship in 2001.  In a nice turn, the first All-Ireland championship under the new format ended up being won, via the backdoor, by the only county to vote against its adoption at Congress. The Dubs headed off on tour, Hill 16 pitching up on the Killinan side of Thurles in one of the more famous games of the decade.

Pic by John Kelly New Clare GAA Podcast Series To Feature Some Greats Of Gaelic Games In Clare February 24, 2021 Clare GAA PRO Michael O Connor has announced that over the course of March, 12 podcasts will be recorded and broadcast on Clare GAA TV. The 12 podcasts will be called “My Life and my Sport: Clare GAA and how it shaped me”, and each episode will be made available to every club in the county to share on their social media channels. Michael selected 12 people who over their lifetime have been and are still in some format involved with the GAA. The series will review their origins, sporting prowess, involvement with club, county and the key moments and personalities that shaped their thinking.

Warren/AP) ATLANTA Microsoft announced via blog post Thursday that it would add to its international cloud operation with new data centers in Fulton and Douglas counties. The cloud facilities one in East Point, one in Douglasville would be part of what Microsoft has dubbed East US 3, a new data center region created to handle increased demand in Georgia, according to Microsoft Cloud Vice President Noelle Walsh. Microsoft also is planning to build regional data centers on 90 acres it purchased over the last year at Quarry Yard, a mixed-use development in Atlanta s Grove Park neighborhood near the Beltline.
