Former Galway hurling manager Micheál Donoghue says teams should be allowed an unlimited number of substitutions throughout the upcoming Allianz Hurling and Football Leagues. Inter-county teams can resume training from today following a four-month lay-off due to government Covid-19 restrictions. The Allianz Leagues are set to get underway on May 8th and Donohoe believes that allowing teams to make more than five substitutions in both codes can help to avoid injuries during what will be a hectic period for games. Speaking to RTÉ Radio’s Sunday Sport, the 2017 All-Ireland winning boss said: They re back this week, it will be three weeks before the league commences and you re straight into a five-game programme over six weeks.
