(Photo by Piyarat Chongcharoen) KANCHANABURI: Soldiers of the Lat Ya Task Force arrested 16 Myanmar migrants on Saturday night found hiding in a rubber plantation in Sangkhla Buri district of this western border province. The migrants 13 men and three women were rounded up from the rubber plantation behind Wat Somdet temple in Nam Lai village in tambon Nong Lu by soldiers acting on a tip-off from local informants. The migrants had their temperatures checked. None were found with a fever or a temperature of over 37.5 degree Celcius. They were then handed over to Sangkhla Buri police for legal proceedings, pending deportation.

(Photo by Piyarach Chongcharoen) KANCHANABURI: Patrols from the Lat Ya Task Force on Saturday arrested 40 Myanmar migrant workers after they crossed the frontier into this western border province. They arrived in two groups. At about 1.30pm, acting on a tip-off from informants deployed along the border, a patrol found eight Myanmar migrants - three men and five women - near Phu Nam Rom village in tambon Ban Kao of Muang district. They were accompanied by two guides, who were also arrested.

Clash in Myanmar opposite Three Pagodas Pass 3 published : 25 Apr 2021 at 09:47 3 KANCHANABURI: A clash took place late on Saturday night in Phyatonezu township opposite the Three Pagodas Pass in tambon Nong Lu of Sangkhlaburi district, local media reported. The exchange of fire started at about 10.30pm between Myanmar soldiers of the 32nd Infantry Battalion and an unknown armed force opposed to the military regime. The noises of explosions as well as machinegun, rifle and M79 fire were clearly heard at Phra Chedi Sam Ong or Three Pagodas Pass village in tambon Nong Lu on the Thai side of the border for about 15 minutes. No casualties were reported.
