The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) received operational vehicles and sewer flushing units worth Ksh600 million from the national government, which would be used in the transformation of the city.
On Saturday, May 29, Water CS Sicily Kariuki and NMS Director-General Mohamed Badi flagged off five operational vehicles and three sewer flushing vehicles.
The automobiles are part of the 22 operational vehicles which are set to be used under the Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration program; Sewerage Improvement project phase II (NaRSIP II) and Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program al under President Uhuru Kenyatta s Big 4 Agenda.

Management of such a vital public service vehicles terminal should not be taken for granted.
It ought to be run by a credible, highly integrated management committee or even better still a board composed of seven persons of high integrity each from different entities.
As the construction of the Green Park Matatu Terminal gets to a completion, Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) in collaboration with other relevant public transport government agencies should seriously discuss the effective and efficient management of this new PSV facility.
Management of such a vital public service vehicles terminal should not be taken for granted.
