The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, has refused to grant bail to a former Vice Chairman of the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Mr Kehinde Ashekun, who is standing trial before the court for the alleged exportation of 1,000 kilogrammes of cocaine.
The judge in charge of the case, Justice Ayokunle Faji, dismissed Ashekun’s bail application, saying it was lacking in merit.
The court also dismissed a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by the former vice chairman against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
