RI data show some increase in younger people hospitalized with COVID Tom Mooney, The Providence Journal © Rhode Island Department of Health Hospitalization trends, by age The number of younger people hospitalized due to COVID-19, while remaining small, has increased over the last two weeks, data from the state Health Department show.  The 20-to-29 age group has seen a 47% increase with hospitalizations   reaching about 25 in the weeks between March 19 and April 1  compared with about 17 in the previous two-week period. The age group of 30 to 39 saw a 43% increase in that same time span, from 16 to 20.  Neha Kumari, a doctor at Rhode Island Hospital, said there isn’t enough data in the two-week period comparison to determine a trend or not, particularly with the overall small  number of hospitalizations.
