Tracking: Late-season snow Tuesday, hard freeze Wednesday morning

This afternoon will be mild with plenty of sunshine! Enjoy it because big changes are coming for Tuesday.  Monday Update: Temperatures will go from the 60s this afternoon to snow tomorrow #MidMoWx#MidMopic.twitter.com/FakzImEvAf Matt Beckwith (@KOMUMatt) April 19, 2021 TUESDAY S SNOW It doesn t happen very frequently, but snow can fall in April! In fact the last time we didn t see at least a trace of snow in April was 2017.  Snow showers will move in from the northwest early Tuesday morning between 3-7am and will have the potential to reduce visibility on roadways, mainly north of I-70 and west of Highway 63. This means that if you are heading gout the door in Fayette, Salisbury, Moberly, and Boonville you might want to allow for some additional time to get where you need to go.

Forecast: Another cool, sunny day; spot showers Friday & Saturday

THURSDAY S FORECAST There was a chance for frost in central Missouri this morning, but morning temps have stayed relatively warm in the upper 30s to lower 40s.  If you like sunshine, that’s good! We get more of it today! ☀️Stays chilly today, highs in the upper 50s https://t.co/lLUZxguxEU@KOMUnews#mowxpic.twitter.com/67l7ifyD5r Tim Schmidt (@komuTim) April 15, 2021 It looks to be another beautiful, sunny day with highs in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Clouds will increase late in the day and tonight. FRIDAY AND A RETURN OF RAIN Starting in the morning, skies will become mostly cloudy with rain developing over Kansas City. This rain will be come more widespread over central and western Missouri, but will struggle to develop over eastern Missouri during the day due to drier air aloft and a stalled mid-level boundary. This will eventually be overcome by rain by early evening over eastern Missouri.
