Lubbock s new Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences will be undergoing some final touches and adjustments this summer, putting its soft launch from earlier this year on pause.
The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra announced the cancellation of the remainder of its 2020-2021 Season due to what it called mandatory stage enhancements at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences
The canceled concerts are Summer Strings on June 19 and Beethoven’s 250th Birthday on June 26.
The Lubbock Entertainment and Performing Arts Association (LEPAA) canceled the LSO concerts to make repairs to the Helen DeVitt Jones Theater stage, according to a news release from LSO.

Even though Horrocks is planning a move out of the downtown Battle Creek area, a new source of fresh produce could be moving in soon.
The project is a partnership between Sprout, Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU), and developers Cody and Caitlynn Newman, owners of the Record Box in Battle Creek. The Newman’s company, Restore 269, plan to develop the old Anson Hotel at the corner of West Michigan Avenue and Carlyle Street, right next to the Record Box. The plan is to bring a deli with fresh produce and a co-op market to the ground floor of the old hotel at 119 West Michigan.
