SAP Concur has added a new Covid-19 guidance tool to its TripIt mobile travel management app, the company has announced.
Powered by travel risk specialist Riskline, the feature includes destination-specific information including Covid infection rates, quarantine and testing requirements, mask and curfew orders and dining restrictions. TripIt users can access the data within their trip itinerary view on TripIt, and more than 200 countries and territories are covered. For some countries, including the US, Canada and Australia, state and territory-specific guidance also is included. The tool is being offered at no additional cost to all Tripit users, Concur said.
With some observers predicting corporate travel will begin to slowly resume in the coming months, a number of travel management and other service providers have added Covid monitoring capabilities to their offerings. In January, Direct Travel unveiled a mobile- and web-based Covid messaging service

American Express Global Business Travel has acquired New York-based Ovation
Travel Group, the parent company of Ovation Travel, Lawyers Travel and, in the UK, Chartwell Travel, the travel management company announced on Thursday.
The
purchase by GBT is a major move in what could well be an active mergers
and acquisitions environment in 2021 for travel management companies.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ovation Travel Group and its employees will
become a division of GBT s global customer partnerships organisation and will continue to be led by Ovation chairman and CEO Paul Metselaar and
the current executive team.
