Kathmandu: Last year on December 23, 2020, Finland disbursed EUR 1 415 000 (200 704 000 NPR) to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), Government of Nepal to support the COVID-19 response activities in school education under the School Sector Development Plan (SSDP).
This is the first installment out of the total committed amount of EUR 2 514 000 (357 651 000 NPR).
This is an additional support to the on-going School Sector Development Plan (SSDP) program, which Finland is supporting with a total of 20 million euros (2,320 million NPR) in the years 2016–2020.

The SSDP covers the entire basic education system in Nepal and is funded jointly by the Government of Nepal and its Development Partners. The program runs through the years 2016–2021.
