We also opposed the foreign direct investment in the carpet industry of Nepal. Such moves will jeopardize the domestic industry, A.G. Sherpa, president of CCIA, a non-governmental organization, told reporters. The budget lacked programs targeted to promote the carpet industry of the country. Sherpa said, We are worry about the dwindling carpet industry, which used to be the number one export industry.
