Nevis math and science teacher Jodi Sandmeyer is among 75 teachers vying for the 2021 Minnesota Teacher of the Year Award.
“I am truly honored to have my name among a top group of teachers in the state,” Sandmeyer said. “Teachers work hard. This year, they are working even harder and to be recognized for hard work is very much appreciated. I am just happy that I get to work at Nevis with a great staff and students. It is an honor and a privilege.”

Amielia Kahlstorf is closing her Nevis hair salon Dec. 31 to start a new chapter in her life.
While she has been working in salons in the area since 2011, dogs have been a big part of her life since she was a child and led her to raise hunting dogs and start her other business, Northern Odyssey Gun Dogs.
