AGOP: Igniting an Offensive Machine By willtakecharge4 on Mar 14, 2021, 10:33pm EDT +
This is the third year I have done an AGOP, and I really enjoy this competition. In these past two years, I took diametrically opposed approaches in creating my ideal Jets offseason. Two years ago, I was under the (false) assumption that Sam Darnold was going to be the future of the team. Thus, we had to spend big in free agency to supplement the team with talent on both sides of the ball. When that strategy proved poor in the 2019, I took a more reserved approach last year, where I had my primary focus on three things:

Over the past decade or so, our offense can be described as many things. One example of such a description is bad, while another is slow. Like Ricky Bobby, I want (this offense) to go fast. The AGOP that follows reflects that want along with a focus on creating an offense that is conducive to developing a young QB
In order to keep myself honest and my numbers accurate, I relied on the following websites for various pieces of information on cap figures, draft positioned, and contract expectations and wanted to shout them out
AGOP - Support For Sam
I am a Sam Darnold believer and want him to succeed in NY. I would give him another prove it year, but this time with better play calling and playmakers. But it is daunting task since the Jets need playmakers at every position. Further, I am skeptical about Zack Wilson who I worry is an injury risk given his size.
I really like the SF offense being brought to NYJ (high % of sweeps and motion) but it requires mobile linemen, fast running backs, and quick receivers that know how to get open. This is a key part of my plan for the offense.
