Data released today by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) shows there were 258 fewer lifestyle property sales (-10.3%) for the three months ended June 2021 than for the three months ended May 2021. Overall, there were 2,241 lifestyle property sales in the three months ended June 2021, compared to 1,223 lifestyle property sales for the three months ended June 2020 (+83.2%), and 2,499 lifestyle property sales for the three months ended May 2021.

Data released today by the Real Estate Institute of New
Zealand (REINZ) shows there were 137 more farm sales
(+53.7%) for the three months ended June 2021 than for the
three months ended June 2020. Overall, there were 392 farm
sales in the three months ended June 2021, compared to 450
farm sales for the three months ended May 2021 (-12.9%), and
255 farm sales for the three months ended June
2020.
1,748 farms were sold in the year to June 2021,
51.5% more than were sold in the year to June 2020, with
148.1% more Dairy farms, 47.6% more Dairy Support, 40.1%
more Grazing farms, 67.5% more Finishing farms and 30.5%
less Arable farms sold over the same period.

Picton is the latest town to join others in the upper
South Island with no road access due to flooding and high
river levels. A local state of emergency was this afternoon
declared in Marlborough with people being evacuated from
some areas.
Westport,
Tākaka, Collingwood, Murchison, Springs Junction and Nelson
are also currently isolated due to state highway closures
caused by the flooding with river levels peaking at state
highway bridges this afternoon.
“People should
continue to avoid driving in these areas, particularly given
more rain is falling around the Marlborough Sounds and
emergency services are responding,” says Tresca Forrester,
