Mayor Tierney attended the launch of the event at Clooney Park West on Monday night where the gesture was announced that he would pay for approximately 86 games between the 17 teams who have registered for the league’s centenary year.

IT’S FAIR TO say the start of the season has not panned out as James Akintunde and Derry City would have hoped.
After 10 games, the Candystripes have picked up just nine points and they sit third from bottom.
Their bad start, coupled with a poor season last year when they finished seventh just a point above the relegation play-off spot recently cost manager Declan Devine his job.
Those were led by the man who had just beaten the Belfast star as Jamel Herring admitted his admiration for his opponent. Yes, this probably the biggest victory of my career, but I just want for everyone to pray and show love for @RealCFrampton . I’ll always be a fan, and he’s a true gentleman. God bless you, my man.
