Scotland boss Steve Clarke has ‘100 per cent sympathy’ for Austria

Scotland manager Steve Clarke has expressed total sympathy with Austria for their selection issues ahead of their Hampden trip next week.
But Clarke insists Scotland made a very fair offer to switch their home World Cup qualifiers around.
Austria are set to be without Bayern Munich defender David Alaba and a host of other German-based players – there were 18 in their most recent squad – because of quarantine rules in their neighbouring country.
Austria decided against requesting a neutral venue or accepting Scotland’s offer to switch fixtures because they hope to have a big crowd when Clarke’s men visit their country in September.

Magennis goal sends Hull City second in League One
Striker Josh Magennis fired home his 10th goal of the season as Hull City ran out comfortable 5-0 winners at Wigan Athletic on Wednesday evening to move up into second in the table, a point behind League One leaders Lincoln City.
It was a first goal in seven matches for the 30-year-old who also chalked up his fifth assist of the campaign after setting up hat-trick hero Mallik Wilks just after the half-hour mark.
Elsewhere in League One, on-loan forward
Paul Smyth scored the only goal of the game as Accrington Stanley claimed all three points against Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.
