And if you re in Cape May County, you ll have to be especially careful in several towns (see list below). Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal and the Division of Highway Traffic Safety have announced the launch of a statewide seat belt enforcement campaign aimed at promoting safe travels on New Jersey roadways during the Memorial Day weekend and beyond. Starting Monday, state, county, and local police departments throughout New Jersey will join law enforcement agencies across the country in the 2021 Click It or Ticket campaign, a national enforcement mobilization targeting unbuckled drivers and passengers.

WILLINGBORO The Willingboro Police Department along with police departments throughout New Jersey will be holding a national Click It or Ticket campaign to see who s buckled up. It kicks off on Monday and will remain through June 6. During these two weeks, drivers can expect to see seatbelt checkpoints and more police on patrol. Authorities hope to remind the community why seatbelts are important. “Using a seatbelt is the simplest way for motor vehicle occupants to protect themselves on the road,” said Eric Heitmann, director of the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety in a press release.  Crash statistics show that in 2017 alone, seat belt use saved nearly 15,000 lives nationally.”
