LOS ANGELES (CNS) - With above-normal temperatures in the forecast, particularly in Northern California, the manager of the state s power grid issued a Flex Alert that will take effect this afternoon, calling for voluntary electricity conservation.
According to the California Independent System Operator, the Flex Alert will be in effect from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday due to predicted high energy demand and tight supplies across the West.
Cal-ISO specifically cited high temperatures in the forecast in interior sections of Northern California.

OAKLAND, Calif. - Officials with California Independent System Operator have issued a statewide flex alert for Wednesday, July 28.
California s grid operator says they predict high demand for energy use due to higher than normal temperatures. They also mentioned there would be tight supplies across the West.
Cal ISO issues Flex Alert for Wednesday evening
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The California Independent System Operator (Cal ISO) has issued a Flex Alert for Wednesday evening due to high temperatures.
The Flex Alert will be in place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Cal ISO posted about the Flex Alert on social media, noting the alert was necessary due to head and tight supply conditions.
High temperatures are expected in parts of interior Northern California and energy demand is expected to be high. During Flex Alerts, Cal ISO asks Californians to conserve electricity to reduce strain on the power grid while demand for energy is high.
