The Online Photographer: Canon v Canon

Canon v. Canon The other day in the Competition from Used post I said, It s almost like we re in the exact opposite situation of the one we were in at the turn of the millennium. Which got me to thinking. Back then, Canon had just introduced the D30 (not 30D, but D30) a reasonably priced digital SLR that had a three megapixel sensor. It was bigger news in the photography world then than anything at all is now. Photo writers across the globe breathlessly ventured the holy-grail claim that the D30 it was almost as good as, or as good as, or

Review: The Dead Husband by Carter Wilson

The Dead Husband is a tension-filled thriller that is both disturbing and exciting. The story-telling shifts between two different perspectives throughout the novel, but we are primarily following the point of view of Rose Yates. Rose is from an affluent family originally but has been living several states away throughout her adult life. She seemed to have it all, but as the story begins, Rose and her eleven-year-old son are headed back to her family home following the sudden death of Rose’s husband. We immediately know that Rose is seeing the return to her father’s home as a last resort she is out of options or she would not be doing this. The reasons behind this trepidation are slowing revealed throughout the novel.

I ve heard the same thing about golfers that a lot of guys with a USGA handicap of one or two or three think they re just a few strokes away from pro caliber meaning they could get there if they just buckled down and worked for it when in fact there s a huge yawning gulf between them and the average tour pro.

The Online Photographer: The Least Attractive Lens (Or, the Happy Dude)

The Least Attractive Lens (Or, the Happy Dude) One of the fun things about this hobby is having an interest in equipment we might get.  And when I come across things in which I have utterly no interest, I always tell myself, well, there s someone out there who s into this. I m carefully watching the prices of the Olympus E-M1 Mark II , since I still have a complete complement of Micro 4/3 lenses. But one new lens crossed my virtual desktop recently in which my interest is about as close to zero as it gets (EMMV ). It s the new-but-not-exactly Canon RF 600mm ƒ/4L IS. Canon attached a permanent RF adapter to the end of the existing 600mm ƒ/4L, and will take your
