A Quebec court has given the OK for a 2011 MacBook Pro settlement.
Some machines required repair due to a graphics defect. Those who paid can now claim a CAD $175 refund.
A Quebec court has given the go-ahead for an Apple settlement related to defective 2011 MacBook Pros. Users found that they were suffering from various graphical issues related to the AMD GPUs used, often having to pay for repairs. Apple agreed a settlement back in January and that has now been approved.
As PCMag points out, the settlement is open to anyone who purchased a 15- or 17-inch 2011 MacBook Pro laptop in Quebec, or those who live in Quebec and own or owned one of those models. Owners can claim a $175 fee for the issue as well as a refund for any repair work they had carried out.

MARQUETTE The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees will guide the NMU administration to develop a plan by June 1 to incentivize achieving herd immunity for COVID-19 in the campus community for the coming fall semester.
Steve Young, vice chairman of the board, addressed the issue at the board’s regular meeting on Friday, noting that NMU has had low positivity rates.
“We really need to now look at that next level, now that vaccines are out there,” Young said. “They’re in ready supply. Access doesn’t appear to be an issue as it was a few weeks ago.”
