The community is inching closer to the goal of having half of the eligible Greene County residents vaccinated against COVID-19 by Memorial Day, but health department officials are hopeful that will happen. If we keep up the current pace, we definitely can meet that goal of reaching 50 percent full vaccination by Memorial Day, said Cara Erwin with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. But we are saying very strongly: We need to keep up that pace. We talk about finishing strong and how this is a marathon, not a race.
Greene County entered the yellow phase of its Road to Recovery plan on April 16, which meant the 50 percent occupancy restrictions on some local businesses were removed.

COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be held at two Springfield-Greene County Library branches.
The clinics are set for May 1st from 9 a.m. to noon at the Library Center and from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Library Station and are for all Missourians 16 and older. The Pfizer vaccine will be available, and participants can get their first or second doses.
Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is strongly encouraged. To register, go to covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator or call 417-874-1211.

Two branches in the Springfield-Greene County Library District are holding COVID-19 vaccine clinics on May 1.
The two locations are the Library Center on South Campbell from 9 a.m. to noon and the Library Station on Kansas Expressway from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The vaccine that will be given is the Pfizer vaccine. People going can get their first or second dose.
Walk-ins are welcome but registration is encouraged.
