DHAKA, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman today said members of Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) should depict the actual scenario before the nation maintaining objectivity.
“Students of the university who work as university correspondents for different media houses during their academic life play a pioneering role in media industries after their academic life. When we met the media persons, they applauded the expertise and quality of our students, especially those who did campus reporting”, he said.
He was addressing a seminar titled ‘The Pathways of Mass media During Post Pandemic Period’ organised by DUJA at university’s Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate bhaban.
Probe report in abduction-rape case against Nur on 5 January

DHAKA, Dec 20, 2020 (BSS) –A court here today set January 5 for the submission of the probe report in a case filed against Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) former vice-president (VP) Nurul Haque Nur and six others on the charges of abduction, rape, abetment in rape and offences under the Digital Security Act.
Today was set for the submission of the investigation report in the case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman set a new date as the investigation officer of the case did not submit the report.
On the night of September 20, a case was filed against Nurul Haque Nur at Lalbagh Police Station for allegedly collaborating in rape.

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2020 (BSS) –A court here today set January 7 for the submission of the investigation report in a case filed against Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) former vice-president (VP) Nurul Haque Nur and six others on the charges of abduction, rape, abetment in rape and offences under the Digital Security Act.
Today was set for the submission of the investigation report in the case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khair set the new date for the case as the investigating agency detective branch (DB) of police did not submit the report.
On September 21, a student of Dhaka University filed a case over kidnapping, rape, assistance in rape and offences under Digital Security Act at Kotwali Police Station in the capital.
Nur files attempt to murder complaint

Former Ducsu Vice President Nurul Haque Nur has filed an attempt to murder complaint with Hatirjheel Police Station early today.
Nur in his written complaint alleged that a private car tried to hit him twice at the capital s Malibagh area around 11:00pm last night.
Nur came up with the allegation while holding a press briefing at Paltan Zaman Tower around 2:30pm today.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Tejgaon zone) Deputy Commissioner Harun Or Rashid told The Daily Star, I heard of the incident. I will hear details about the incident from the police of Hatirjheel Police Station.
Ex-Ducsu VP Noor alleges attempt on his life

Former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur yesterday alleged that an attempt was made on his life by running him over with a car in the capital s Malibagh area on Wednesday night when he was on his way home.
He further alleged that the vehicle was owned by a secretary. It had a sticker of the Parliament Secretariat on its windshield and a pass sticker from the home ministry.
Speaking at a press conference at Zaman Tower in the city s Paltan yesterday, Nur said a car (Dhaka Metro GA-31-6508) was following him and his party men around 11:00pm on Wednesday when they were coming down the Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover on their way home to Badda.
