Eligibility has now expanded to include all congregate living workers aged 40 or older (previously aged 60 or older). On March 11, eligibility expanded to include anyone working in an acute care facility, not just those who have direct contact with patients. Age-based eligibility criteria remain the same including individuals aged 80 or older and First Nation people aged 60 or older.

Manitoba has reached several vaccine milestones this week, according to the province’s implementation task force co-lead, Johanu Botha.

That includes activating the distribution model and pop-up clinics in rural areas. Our goal is to be able to give 1.5 million doses of vaccine by the end of the second quarter, the second quarter beginning on April 1 and lasting for three months. To achieve that, our daily maximum capacity has to be 20,000 doses, said Botha.
