Cottonwood County records another COVID-related death

Jackson County records 10 new cases of the virus among residents. 11:34 am, Apr. 16, 2021 × REGIONAL A Cottonwood County resident between the ages of 90 and 94 is the latest to die from complications from COVID-19. The information, reported Friday morning by the Minnesota Department of Health, stated there were six deaths reported during the 24-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Thursday. Among the dead, five resided in private residences, while one was a resident of a long-term care or assisted living facility. Minnesota’s death toll from the virus now stands at 6,995, including 4,325 residents of long-term care facilities. Meanwhile, 2,299 more Minnesotans received positive COVID-19 test results during the 24-hour period. Among them were 10 residents of Jackson County, nine residents of Cottonwood County, seven from Nobles County, six from Rock County, and three from Pipestone County. Murray County reported no new cases for the day.

Rock County reports 19th death from COVID-19

Cottonwood County reports 12 new cases of the virus. 11:26 am, Apr. 15, 2021 × REGIONAL The death of a Rock County resident due to complications of COVID-19 was among 11 deaths statewide reported by the Minnesota Department of Health in its daily update this morning. The Rock County resident was between the ages of 85 and 89, and is the 19th person from there to die from the virus. Of the 11 deaths statewide, seven were from private residences and four resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities. Minnesota’s death toll from the virus now stands at 6,989, including 4,324 residents of long-term care facilities. Meanwhile, 2,736 more Minnesotans received positive COVID-19 test results during the 24-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Among them were 12 residents of Cottonwood County, eight from Nobles County, five from Jackson County, three from Pipestone County and two from Murray County. Rock County reported no new cases for the day.

On Tuesday morning, it was announced the clinic was cancelled.

Pipestone County adds nine new cases of the virus. 11:12 am, Apr. 14, 2021 × REGIONAL Fourteen more residents of Cottonwood County tested positive for COVID-19 during the 24-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pipestone County reported nine new cases, Jackson County, six, Rock County, five, Nobles County, three and Murray County, two. The new cases were among 1,715 reported statewide during the one-day period, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. The cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases statewide now stands at 547,101 (positive and antigen tests), with 522,843 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 40,158 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus.

Nobles County reports seven more confirmed COVID-19 cases

No new cases were reported in Jackson and Murray counties. The new cases were among 1,367 reported statewide during the one-day period, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. The cumulative total of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases statewide now stands at 545,404 (positive and antigen tests), with 520,800 beyond the 10-day isolation period. Thus far, 40,077 Minnesota health care workers have contracted the virus.
