NieR Replicant Origami Art Took Over 210 Hours to Make
In the lead up to
NieR Replicant’s launch, Square Enix’s done quite a bit of hyping up. Some of that hype building involved a special broadcast, an Instagram filter, a limited time cafe, and game crossovers. Its latest involved a chance to see Juho Könkkölä
NieR Replicant origami art of Emil and Nier. It took the artist 210 hours to make both of them.
The official Twitter account for the series offered a look at both characters. Each piece of
NieR Replicant origami art was made from one sheet of paper. At the 30 second mark, you can see the Nier figure’s sheet unfolded. At the 40 second mark, you can see the most basic version of him before wetting and moulding.

We don’t know when it’ll be fixed, or what those fixes will actually include, but we do know that “An upgrade patch for the Steam version of NieR:Automata is currently in development”, because that’s all the game’s official Twitter account would say on the matter.

As much as I adore Nier: Automata (degree: a lot), I cannot deny the PC version is a bit bum and has been since it launched four years ago. It s daft that we ve had to use a fan-made fix to run it in the correct resolution or stop cutscenes stuttering. Square Enix did us dirty. But oh my giddy aunt, the stars have aligned and today they finally announced an upgrade patch for the post-apocalyptic RPG s Steam version. Presumably with the fixes from the recent Microsoft Store edition?
Nier: Automata wasn t unplayable by any stretch but it was shoddy, and I was surprised when it remained so. While Squeenix did release paid DLC, they did not patch its issues. This Steam guide explains the tools and tweaks we ve needed to fix it ourselves. Hopefully this is the sort of stuff finally getting addressed? Squeenix announced today:
Nier: Automata’s Steam version is getting an upgrade
Square Enix is giving Nier: Automata‘s Steam version some TLC. The publisher took to Twitter to tell fans that an “upgrade patch” for the sombre RPG is currently in development. That’s all the details we have right now, but Square Enix says it’ll have more information to share with you at a “later date”.
This all follows Nier: Automata’s Become As Gods edition coming to Game Pass on PC after being available on Xbox One. Fans reckon it’s a much better version of the game on Steam, so they started review bombing the one that’s available on Valve’s storefront.
