Chargers loot city money, QB Stan Humphries gets another concussion, Chargers players 20-30 years later

“Yeah, that’s right, they’re going to steal the money for Alex’s Chargers training field from the cops’ pueblo land fund. A big chunk of their pueblo land money is earmarked for Alex,” another inside source told us when we called to confirm what sounded like the wildest Spanos tale yet. “McGrory thinks he can get away from it because nobody is looking, and the Union-Tribune isn’t going to tell anybody about it. By Matt Potter, Dec. 7, 1995 | Read full article Neither a CT-scan nor an MRI can pick up the damage Humphries brain most likely sustained. This was Humphries fourth concussion in his pro career, his second in fewer than three weeks. Recovery from second concussions much less fourth ones is rarely 100 percent. Most neurologists have neither the training nor the inclination to determine whether Humphries has a truly clean bill of health. Such an examination can take hours and be spread out over days.

Charity worker, 20, is facing jail after violent BLM demo

A protester at a Black Lives Matter demonstration is facing jail after police officers  ran for their lives when he hurled pieces of barrier at them during protests in Downing Street, a court heard. Charity worker Shayden Spencer, 20, was caught on CCTV throwing parts of the fence during the unruly incident on June 3 last year. The Black Lives Matter Movement - sparked by the killing of George Floyd in the US at the hands of a white officer - spread rapidly across the globe in 2020. Demonstrations erupted across the UK throughout the summer and, while most protests remained peaceful, some ended with violent clashes with the police.

Looking inside Padres lockers, Maureen Connolly, Ted Williams, spying on America's Cup rivals for the Kochs

Photo by Robert Burroughs Archie Moore, 1985. The swimming pool in the shape of a boxing glove is empty now, and I-15 traffic rumbles constantly alongside Moore’s weedy lot. Caught looking. Tony Gwynn sat in a canvas-backed chair and peered into the wooden cubicle in front of him. “What’s in my locker?” he asked, repeating the question that had been posed to him. “Well, here’s a rubber stamp that says “Tony Gwynn’ on it. I’ve never used it. Here’s a ball of putty that I squeezed to strengthen my arm when I hurt it earlier this year. And here’s a media guide from the All-Star game. Other than that,” he said, scanning the walls and shelves of the locker, “I’ve just got the usual bats, gloves, underwear, and shoes.”
