The University of West Florida held their Spring Commencement on Saturday.
Two ceremonies were held at Blue Wahoos Stadium, the first in-person commencement since the pandemic. UWF invited all 2020 graduates to attend the Spring 2021 commencement.
Graduates were socially distanced, and guests were limited to four per graduate. The ceremonies were streamed online, and many graduates chose to take part virtually.

Baseball will return to Blue Wahoos Stadium this year with near capacity crowds, but face masks will be required.
“We are thrilled to have received approval from Major League Baseball to welcome our great fans back to Blue Wahoos Stadium in 2021,” team president Jonathan Griffith said. “Our staff has worked closely with Major League Baseball to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure fans can safely return to the ballpark and to maximize our capacity so our community can enjoy the Wahoos Life together.”
In coordination with Major League Baseball, the Blue Wahoos have set the following safety guidelines for Blue Wahoos Stadium in 2021:

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are out with their 120-game schedule for the 2021 season, after losing the entire 2020 campaign to the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety measures will be in place at Blue Wahoos Stadium this summer.
Starting a month later than normal, Pensacola opens on the road against the Mississippi Braves on May 4 – with the home opener a week later against the Birmingham Barons. Team President Jonathan Griffith says all series will be six games, with each Monday off.
“With the new layout it should mean less travel, but also it’s going to be great for fans,” Griffith said. “Those Monday games were always tough for us, and so now, without having the Monday games to worry about it’s going to be great.”

The two primary law firms working on cases Levin Papantonio Rafferty and Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz PLLC have filed more than 70 cases in the First Circuit against the construction giant, but those cases are stalled after Skanska filed a federal court filing essentially saying the company had no way of knowing the hurricane would have caused that damage.
The filing, called a limitation of liability complaint, aims first and foremost to completely exonerate Skanska from any damages, but if a court finds they are liable for the impact on local businesses and residents, they are aiming for a cap of about $1.2 million in damages to account for the value of the barges.
