SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan Area Room Tax Commission on Wednesday gave formal approval to an agreement that will give the Blue Harbor Resort and Conference Center a grace period on money owed to the city.  The downturn in tourism caused by the coronavirus made for a big drop in revenue that prompted Blue Harbor to make the request. The resolution authorizing what’s called the “First Amendment to the Agreement” between the City of Sheboygan, Visit Sheboygan Inc., and the Commission, concerns expenditures made by the city related to the lakeside resort.  The resolution was approved at last week’s Common Council meeting, allowing the 2020 payment to be made along with 2021 payments without interest.  Yesterday’s action, approved on a voice vote, authorizes commission officials to sign that agreement with the operators of Blue Harbor.
