Twice-monthly ‘tribute nights’ featuring talented Whakatipu entertainers started at Arrowtown’s The Blue Door on Friday when local singer Charlotte Graf hit the stage.
The shows are being organised by Queenstown vocal coach and impresario Margaret O’Hanlon.
The format is entertainers be they a singer, muso, poet or storyteller perform two 55-minute shows one at 6.30pm and another at 9pm on the second and fourth Friday of every month.
‘‘I like getting people I know are talented, but have very few outlets, to think creatively and come up with something we haven’t seen before.

Luke Stembridge headbutted his girlfriend in a drunken attack
A drunken dad who necked three shots of tequila and six bottles of beer, dragged his girlfriend into the garden and headbutted her repeatedly.
Luke Stembridge chose to go out drinking with friends instead of spending time with his daughter on the night of February 26 this year, Hull Crown Court heard.
Returning home in the early hours, the 35-year-old then argued with his partner before dragging her into the garden and throwing a black bin at her.
